Welcome to Benedikt's home page on the WorldWide Web. Or - should we say - welcome to Benedikt's building plot? <grin/>

I built my server quite a while ago, in May 1996, and it took me only 20 months to create my own homepage. How can that be?

I've been asked about that several times, more and more often, more and more regularly. In the end, when I realized that I needed some training in doing HTML pages for my other projects, I decided to "give in" to the "begging" for my own page.

Boy, I do hope, that none of you expects me to maintain my own homepage later...

Still, the "obvious" over-lazyness to create my own home page isn't everything, that kept me away from doing my page. The main reason that kept me away was an old mail signature by Hrvoje Niksic that I read in the XEmacs-Beta mailing list:

WWW World-Wide-Waste. Waste management corporation, which handles the billions of tons of garbage generated by just about everybody these days.
